I'd say the simulated exam is very helpful. Of course, the questions on the CD are totally different from the real exam questions, however, they gave me a major idea what to expect. There are a lot of negative-negative questions on the CD, so when I took the exam the questions like that didn't surprise me. Highly recommend.

PMP Exam Prep Test CD - Extremely Helpful

In preparation for the PMP exam, I utilized this CD of PMP prep questions which I found to be very helpful. I thought the questions were challenging and extremely benefitial in my studying efforts. I really enjoyed being able to reference PMBOK to the questions and the explanations of the answers were insightful. I would highly recommend this CD.

This book is an outstanding resource in finding useful caregiving tips when you really need them - which is daily. When my grandfather was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, this book helped me understand how to lovingly deal with him. BRILLIANT

If I could, I would have given this book ten stars! It was THAT good! We are taken on a emotional roller coaster with the main charatcer, Prince. He is SO real. WE are with him from 14 until past his 30's. She wrote an excellent book! Can you believe that I counted like 2 typos? Grammar was on point, and the story line, stayed right on track. You felt Prince's pain,and his happiness. This book has you crying, laughing and going through every emotion that Prince goes through. WOW! This is a great book for females, we can see the black man's journey-- good and bad! Good for the men cause no matter the status of the man reading this book he can indentify with Prince in some way, whether it be the 'hood-rich' lifestyle, the wanna-be thug lifestyle, the prison system, the baby-momma drama, wanting to be like the men in your family OR just simply a young man turning his life around and believing in himself. EXCELLENT. I can't say enough!

A Young Prince's Transformation Into A King

Hood Rich is a tear-jerking story chronicling the life of DeMarqeus Prince. At the on-set of the book Prince is being interviewed from behind bars for a magazine. It is from this point where readers will get to know young Prince and the life struggles he had to face. Fatherhood, gunplay, murder and eventually prison is all experienced before he turns 18.

Prince is a true product of his environment and unfortunately pays the price for it. The hardships faced by Prince will cause you to shed many tears. At so many points in the book I questioned just how much would this boy be forced to endure? Although the process was long and turbulent young Prince eventually transforms into a king and readers will definitely enjoy the journey. Hood Rich is an excellent story that will touch your soul.

Whether you are raised in a suburban area or in the projects, the choices you make can either make you or break you. HOOD RICH by Crystal Perkins-Stell is a look inside the life of a young man who chooses the path given instead of the path out of the hood.

DeMarques Prince, affectionately called Prince by his family and friends, was born and raised on the mean streets of Detroit, Michigan. Having a loving family did not influence Prince to take the good road, instead he opted to follow in his Uncle Silk and big brother Ant's footsteps and survive in the game of selling drugs. At an early age Prince could be found skipping school, staying out until the wee hours of the morning or learning the drug game from Ant. Not having any positive role models in his life, Prince followed by example. His loyalty was to Ant, who acted as a father figure and was truly his brother's keeper. Raised in a fatherless home and with a mother who really didn't know anything about parenting, Prince became a victim of circumstance.

Prince makes a few stupid decisions early in his life and ends up at the wrong place at the wrong time. Having to make a choice between loyalty and freedom, life as he knows it changes for the worse. Wondering if the decision he made was a wise one, Prince has no choice but to lie in the bed he made. Being unfairly treated in the judicial system, Prince manages to keep his head up in spite of his circumstance. He never gives up hope that things will eventually work in his favor.

HOOD RICH is a raw, riveting and captivating novel that will surely open your eyes to life in the hood. Watching as Prince grows from a troubled teen to a wise caring man will surely tug at your heartstrings. The most enjoyable part of the book was how strong the characters were developed and the look inside the mind and heart of a teen searching for his place in the world. The loyalty Prince had to his family was undeniably strong but at times foolish as he put his brother first when in essence he should have been looking out for self. The surprise twist at the end left me with my mouth hanging open; it was thrilling and suspenseful. Perkins-Stell has crafted a best seller. Those who have a love for Urban Fiction will definitely love this book, and those who don't may find themselves jumping on the urban fiction bandwagon. (RAW Rating: 4.5)

Unshackled and Growing by Dr. Nabeel T. Jabbour

Subtitled Muslims and Christians on the Journey to Freedom, Dr. Nabeel T. Jabbour's book invites Muslims to move beyond the legalism found within Islam and experience the freedom of God's grace and truth found only in Christ. In this book, Dr. Jabbour provides a culturally sensitive approach for building bridges for Muslims to understand who Jesus Christ is and how they enter a personal relationship with Him.

Written with a Muslim audience in mind, this book is a helpful resource for Christians who have little or no knowledge of Islam. To that effect, the author uses several Muslim terms that are very familiar to those with a Muslim background. This can confuse the reader at times, causing difficulty in trying to figure out of the objective of the book is to lead Muslims to Jesus Christ, or allow Muslims to remain in Islam and add a little bit of Jesus to their existing beliefs. It becomes clear after reading the book the former is the primary objective of the book.

After working through part one of the book, called Unshackled and moving through part two, called Growing, it becomes very clear Dr. Jabbour's desire is to provide a basis for Muslims to begin exploring the person and work of Jesus Christ as God's only Son who died to save man from sin and that salvation is found in no other person but Jesus. The final part of the book, The Manual: Growing in Christ, provides a solid overview of basic Christian doctrines and disciplines ranging from who Jesus is, having a quiet time, prayer, and scripture memorization. This book is highly recommended not so much for gaining information regarding Islam but for the practical examples of how to share Jesus with a Muslim.

Unshackled and Growing

I originally requested to review Unshackled and Growing by Dr. Nabeel T. Jabbour because I'm very interested in North Africa, and I also work with several Muslims. I thought this book might be interesting to read since it's geared toward Muslims who are seeking to learn more about Jesus and not necessarily towards Christians who want to share their faith with Muslims.

Since I've never been a Muslim, I can't speak to how this book can speak to those of the Islamic faith, but I can say that I learned a great deal from this book. Jabbour lays out basic biblical knowledge, explaining historical information and how events in the Bible relate to events in Islam. He uses Arabic words to help convey the meanings of several important concepts. And he pleads with the reader to believe in Jesus as the Saviour. I would recommend this book to others- especially if you think you may work with Muslims in the future. It will definitely give you an insight into what they may be thinking when you approach them with Christianity.

Not for Muslims only, but Christians, too

I heard Dr. Jabbour speak several years ago when I was visiting a church in Colorado Springs. His message was compelling, so I purchased the book but never completed it. Recently, I have been preparing to lead a women's Bible study on the book of Galatians, and for some reason, I remembered an illustration in this book and pulled it out. In my study of Galatians, I am reminded of how passionate Paul was that the Galatian Christians not turn away from the simplicity of the gospel of grace they had been taught by him to the bondage of legalism from which he himself had been rescued. "Unshackled and Growing" is a reminder of the stark contrast between the freedom of the gospel of Christ and the bondage to the law--even ones of our own making--in all its wrappings. I recommend this book to anyone--Christian, Muslim or others--who have never known or have forgotten that their hope is in faith alone in Christ alone by God's grace alone. I am reading it again, this time to the finish line, and am enjoying every word!

Ante-bellum Presidency

Franklin Pierce is one of the most obscure presidents in our history. Few history classes deal with his politics, and the average history student would not know even a single policy he brought to light. In fact, his reputation is widely thought to be as a man with a terrible temper, made worse by his drinking.

The author, Peter Wallner, looks to debunk many of these myths in the first serious biography of Pierce in almost 75 years.

I would have to say that I learned much about the man and the times in reading this biography, although it was told in a dry narrative. Ante-bellum politics were a far different world than exists today, as the Republican party was in its infancy, and the Whigs were still a major force. Pierce was a die-hard Democrat, with the feeling being that he really believed what he was, and his principles were squarely with the people.

He was a man of rock hard principle, with the rare combination of really being able to connect in a human way with the common man.

But life in the mid-1800's was forbidding, and Pierce suffered through immense personal tragedy, even shortly before he moved into the White House.

My complaint is that this book takes us only from his birth to inauguration night. There is a second volume.

Pierce did not have the dramatic presidency of an FDR, the incredible political career of an LBJ, or the precipitous fall of a Richard Nixon. There is no reason to cut his life into two volumes, and make a reader shell out $30- for each.

Pierce belongs in a historical context, with the other Presidents, but this book was "only" 258 pages of reading, and his White House career and the rest of his life could have easily fit in one book.

That said, there are few outlets to learn of his life and presidential career, and this would seem to be a pretty worthwhile venue.

Long Overdue Re-Assessment of Franklin Pierce

What a pleasure it was to read a new biography of Franklin Pierce! Peter Wallner's scupulously researched and well written book is a fine re-assessment of Pierce's tragic life leading up to the Presidency. When one takes into account all he went through, with his wife and the tragic death of his son, it is a wonder he functioned at all as chief executive.

After waiting nearly 85 years since the last bio of Pierce this one was well worth the wait, however, I'm sorry we have to wait another two years to read the second half of the narrative involving his Presidency and the retirement years. I'm sure Peter Wallner will do the same great research and weave the narrative in the same easy to read manner as he has done in the first volume. It will certainly be worth the wait, I'm sure.

800 scorer on SAT IC and IIC

Unnecessary to buy any book except this. Review all topics, do all the practice tests and go over them each one in detail, and you are guaranteed, seriously, at least above 750 on the actual ones. 800 on all others (Kaplans, Princetons, REA, Barrons) equals a 750 on these tests... I got 800 on real SATS (incredible, seeing as how some math teachers can't even get above 90th)

Compared to what's out there, this is the best.

Mr. Meylani has outdone all of those well known prep companies. I am a student who jumped Precalc, going to Calculus straight, so I truly needed to get my concepts straight. Mr. Meylani's book gives EVERYTHING along with a clear indication of what is IIC material or not. I took the test yesterday and feel very confident. This was a test I was rather nervous of, due to my lacking precalc experience, but no worries if you want something with ALL the answers, your search ends here. My only complaint is that there are few errors. However, this is no stigma almost, as there is no book that's close to as complete as this one. So, at least compared to what's out there, this is the best.

Better than all...

Well, I got 800 in 2C and 760 in 1C in my first attempt; nothing else to say! In the exam I felt like I had seen all of the questions before. Deserves 5 stars but I give 4 because of the paper and binding. Nevertheless, thanks...

Given the exotic nature of so many bodywork practices, readers will be surprised to learn that they can improve their health and well-being with something as simple as walking. But that's just what Los Angeles physical therapist Brourman asserts here. Walking isn't just a great physical and meditative exercise, she points out, it's the physical activity we do most often. And just as imbalance, poor posture and untoned muscles can lead to painful injuries, correcting the way you walk and strengthening and stretching your muscles can speed your recovery or prevent you from getting hurt in the first place. Because Brourman doesn't have the luxury of seeing every reader personally, a great deal of the book is devoted to diagnosing and solving individual gait problems--something that can be done, she says, because the standards of human symmetry are the same for everyone. "The truth is that height, weight, proportions, age, sex, and all other human features and options don't change the basic elements of a symmetrical walk," she writes. The instructions are reasonably easy to follow (although some readers may be disconcerted by a common experience--when you start thinking about how you should be doing something you do every day, you start to "forget" how you did it in the first place). Those who are suffering from pain in such places as the back and the knees may be most motivated to follow Brourman's instructions, but she makes it clear that just about everyone can benefit from a good walk.

Anyone who has ever had a leg injury and subsequent pain in the other leg from an altered gait will agree with Brourman's assertion that incorrect movement while walking can lead to physical pain. As a registered physical therapist, Brourman has helped patients avoid surgery through exercises to improve muscle strength, posture, and movement. She explains how unbalanced walking leads to pain and what correct movement can achieve for a person who has experienced an orthopedic injury. She offers self-evaluation tests, gait correction methods, and strengthening and stretching exercises and uses case studies of her own patients as examples. Although there is some useful information here, physical therapists will justifiably advise that people with existing problems be under the supervision of a registered therapist; Brourman's instructions for the exercises are not easy to follow, and it could be dangerous for a patient to do a self-correction without guidance. Of benefit to everyone who takes a step.

By following the principles in this book, I'm quite sure I have minimized the pain and discomfort of two leg injuries within a year, both requiring a cast - broken ankle requiring surgery and hairline knee fracture, as well as an arthritic hip, all on the same leg. Although I found the technical explanations tough going, I believe I distilled the essence of the instruction into a brand new, better way to walk. I walk my dog twice a day so I slowly incorporated one aspect at a time into changing my walk. There is no doubt that my leg muscles are stronger as a result of my redesigned walk. The book leaves no stone unturned with respect to its topic, so I am quite thankful that I discovered this A to Z instructional reference book.

I thought I knew how to walk...

I applaud the author for blazing this trail to "structurally sound walking principles"! She explains in detail how to diagnose your faulty gait, which strengthening and stretching exercises (with illus.) will correct your particular weakness, and offers a simple example how to chart your progress. I appreciated the text inside boxes providing more technical explanations concerning specific muscles... I was able to correct a few structural postures immediately, and I'm very glad to be aware of these principles, especially since I'm into fitness walking. Now I have information which is attending to those nagging knee, hip, and back pains.

Please re- write this book

The frequent glaring typos in this book are hard to believe. Did the publisher hate the author? Does the author have zero co-workers who are able to edit? And why does it look like it was printed on a typewriter? The sad truth is that this is a pretty darn good little book. The information in it is not original, no matter what the author thinks, but is a great rehash of important truths for the walking wounded about the body and about alignment and putting it all together to feel better. The typo that spelled an x rated word was the last straw. For that reason, until a new edition is out, don't buy it. The Egoscue book more motivating and more readable.
