Hart's Truth

Dr. McGuire is being cared for by his assistant, who happens to be his lovely and gracious red-haired daughter, Abby. Hart is put off by Dr. McGuire's gruffness and seeming indifference. While tending to the ailing and sick, poor, hardworking people, Hart is drawn to not only the needs of the townsfolk, but to the old doctor and his daughter as well. Through a series of events and a near tragedy, Hart discovers his deep need for God and his love for Abby. Step back in time to a place where life was simpler and sweeter. Let the rugged railroad town of Renew draw you into this wonderful story of life-altering events that gently build Hart's love for life, but most of all his deep need for God through transforming love.

A warm, uplifting and entertaining story!

I greatly enjoyed this book! You get the feeling throughout that the author has a special affection for the town where the book takes place as well as the characters who live there. The romance between the main characters never seems forced and develops at just the right pace.

I also loved the interaction between the young doctor and older doctor. The story flows naturally and is a great read. The action dispersed with the romance and the other plot lines makes this a page turner. The book leaves you wanting to know more about these people and the little town of Renew.

I hope Ms. Long brings us more stories about these characters soon.

Fantastic - Restores teaching of Yeshua (Jesus) as a Jew!

This book does what few books can do, it challenges us to redefine our understandings of core doctrines and beliefs in Scripture.

Yeshua (Jesus) was fully a Torah observant Jew, and contrary to today's teachings by many, taught His talmidim (disciples) to observer the Torah. He was born a fully Jew, and He died fully a Jew.

A worthwhile book that will change the way you see Yeshua (Jesus).

Really more a comment on the title

The book I agree has some really great points. I myself am Messianic & believe that so many people miss out by not knowing the Jewishness of our Messiah. My biggest problem, believe it or not, is the title. Jesus didn't have blue eyes ? Um, just how do we know that ? I think the author doesn't realize, as many do not, that blue eyes originated in the middle east. It was a mutation that caused the blue color in the eyes, and it originated around the Black Sea area thousands of years ago & it spread from that one ancestor throughout the centuries, throughout the world. Since blue eyes originated in the middle east, there is no basis in saying Yeshua didn't have blue eyes. We just don't know. We do know blue eyes were present throughout the world at the time Yeshua was on earth because blue eyes had well spread throughout the world many thousands of years before Yeshua was born. He could've had brown eyes, he could very well have had blue eyes. It's a poor, uneducated title for a book. It starts it off on the wrong foot, which is unfortunate because this book has alot of good information in it. The author would do well to research genetics & the history of blue eyes before he issues a statement like that. It's very uninformed.

Blue Eyes A Keeper

I have been studying the Jewish Roots of Christianity since 1980, after my wife and I attended a one day workshop presented by Jews for Jesus. I have read a fairly large number of books on the subject but this one was way above average and helpful. Actually, for someone that hasn't ever looked into this before, this book is an excellent resource. However, even if you have been doing it for 31 years like me, it still had a lot of really good material and it didn't hurt to review the things I had learned in the past.

For me, the first half of the book was more basic, but the latter half was really good and had lots of new things to share and I really appreciate Derek's work in this book. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to know the "real" background of our faith in Yeshua, whether beginner or old timer like me.

When I read pages 118-119 (Exploring the World of Jewish Thought) in the copy I bought, I though Derek had taken some of those thoughts right out of my own diary. All I can say is Leman has "been there, done that" and definitely knows what he is talking about. Again, my personal thanks to him for the book.

"Franklin became intrigued with surfboard design and production as a grommet, hanging out at Joe Quigg's shop in Newport Beach. . . . After a stint as an electrician, he became one of the first full-time ding repairmen in the trade. . . He became one of the most in-demand ding repairmen in Orange County, fixing boards through Windansea Surfboards, Newport Surf and Sport, Hanafin, and other shops. Eventually devoting more of his energies on building new boards, but concerned with preserving his unique methods on paper, his friend Bank Wright, a writer/publisher whose work include the highly popular guidebooks Surfing California and Surfing Hawaii, nudged Franklin into the idea of writing a book on ding repair. It was a lot of work, and a lot of re-work, says Franklin, a soft spoken 49 year old man with blue eyes clear and light as a Polynesian lagoon. The first version of Fiberglass Ding Repair was composed on a portable mechanical typewriter. Great book if you are worried about starting to repair your own board or if you've done it before but want some better techniques and tricks in order to improve your repairs. It could use some more ways you could do some types of repair (using more modern tools)and maybe some more clearer pictures.

These power plants were designed for a limited lifetime of one year and the mass of scaled up power plants would probably be unacceptable to meet future mission needs. Extensive development was performed on the liquid-metal cooled SP-100 power systems and components were well on their way to being tested in a relevant environment. A generic flight system design was completed for a seven year operating lifetime power plant, but not built or tested. The former USSR made extensive use of space reactors as a power source for radar ocean reconnaissance satellites. They launched some 31 missions using reactors with thermoelectric power conversion systems and two with thermionic converters. Current activities are centered on Fission Surface Power for lunar applications. Activities are concentrating on demonstrating component readiness. This book will discuss the components that make up a nuclear fission power system, the principal requirements and safety issues, various development programs, status of developments, and development issues.
