I want to spend my life with Uncle Jesse! That's what the He!! I want! LOL!

If I could be serious for a moment. I was recently on a very crowded train and I could not get good reception from God. While we were talking he kept breaking up. That's why I need a private train. So that those hipsters and ethnics do not steal all the wifi.

It is imperative that God can get me messages as quickly as possible and there is NO WAY he could do it on a crowded train or a commercial flight. God shares very important knowledge with me like all the Hollywood stars who wear toupees and all the actresses who do prefer the company of women.

Come on, people. This is so obvious.

Very Inspiring, love Jesse and the book

I love Jesse Duplantis, he is so funny, so real, down to earth and tells it like it is. I don't want to spill the beans by going into detail of the book, but it is a must have. It is easy reading. Its delightful, no punches pulled, and insiteful as well as inspirational. Every library should contain this one.

About the Author
Julius O. Smith is a research engineer and musician devoted to developing new technologies for music. He received the B.S.E.E. degree from Rice University, Houston, TX, in 1975 (Control, Circuits, and Communication). He received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in E.E. from Stanford University, Stanford, CA, in 1978 and 1983, respectively. His Ph.D. research was devoted to improved methods for digital filter design and system identification applied to music and audio systems. From 1975 to 1977 he worked in the Signal Processing Department at ESL, Sunnyvale, CA, on systems for digital communications. From 1982 to 1986 he was with the Adaptive Systems Department at Systems Control Technology, Palo Alto, CA, where he worked in the areas of adaptive filtering and spectral estimation. From 1986 to 1991 he was employed at NeXT Computer, Inc., responsible for sound, music, and signal processing software for the NeXT computer workstation. After NeXT, he became an Associate Professor at the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA) at Stanford, teaching courses and pursuing research related to signal processing techniques applied to music and audio systems. Continuing this work, he is presently a Professor of Music and Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering (by courtesy) at Stanford University. A great book, but...

...only for those who have already knowledge about several mathematical topics. Don't except this book to take you by the hand. Try Musimathics of Gareth Loy if you are a starter, else if you 're really into math just GO for the book. A pleasure for owners of Matlab too, since most of the examples are in Matlab code.

Maybe it's me, but really rather disappointing.

I've been a Charlotte Moss fan for years, beginning in the late 80's when she opened her decorating shop in New York City in the 1980's and consider her books, "A Passion for Detail" and "Creating a Room" to be my very favorite interior design books (and I have quite an extensive collection). So, when I understood that her latest design book, "Design Inspirations" was being published, I was very much looking forward to it and ordered it sight unseen. Sadly, I found it quite disappointing and not nearly in the same league as her other decorating books.

First, I should explain that the book examines four rooms that she has designed in recent years for interior design showhouses in NYC. It is not her rooms that I find fault with -- all the rooms are absolutely gorgeous, as I have always found her designs -- but the book itself is the disappointment. Unlike her previous efforts, this book is a thin volume -- not even 100 pages in total -- and unexpectedly small -- not much larger than a standard paperback. It is not the substantial, coffee table beauty that I've come to expect from this author. The illustrations are lovely, but there's very little text at all and I don't imagine the author spent much time writing the text and organizing the illustrations. In addition, one of the four rooms, the bedroom, has been covered and illustrated extensively in at least two recent home decorating magazines. The other three rooms are also well illustrated on her website, so there will actually not be too much new to be found in this book.

Maybe it's me, but this book seems more like a little companion guide -- with some pretty illustrations -- to the showhouses in which she participated, than the beautiful and substantial "Passion for Detail" that I have revisited with enjoyment many times since it was published almost 15 years ago. In summary, I probably would still have bought this book, had I seen it first, but it would not have been the automatic purchase I thought it was when I ordered it.

an intimate look at where a decorator's inspiration TRULY comes from

Perhaps if the reviewer "Decorating Diva" had read the information regarding the dimensions of the book and the page count (not to mention the price) she--or he--would not have been so disappointed.

While it's true that this is no coffee table book--and there are plenty of other decorators' coffee table books out there if that is what you are interested in (and, further, from what I understand, Ms. Moss will have a new one of her own coming out later this fall)--what I loved about this book was its almost keepsake aspect documenting four of Ms. Moss' favorite rooms from decorator showhouses. Though diminutive, this book is packed with information--96 pages is A LOT to learn about only 4 rooms. And, since showhouses exist for such a short period of time, this was an interesting memoir approach to the process of their creation.

While many people in the design world often talk about their "Inspiration", it is very rare that you actually hear first-hand the actual experiences/images/dreams that lead up to the creation of something beautiful. In addition to being talented, Ms. Moss is a very interesting woman personally, and that is what shines forth in this book--how the essence of the creative person translates into her work.

A worthwhile purchase for Ms. Moss' fans, as well as anyone interested in the ideas behind ideas.

My least favorite of her books

I think Charlotte Moss is a wonderful designer and love her books. This one, however, is my least favorite. First, it is actually a very small book - not only in the number of pages, but the length and width is much smaller than most decorating/design books. Second, it is one of those books that is nice to look at once. I won't be grabbing it over and over for inspiration.

Two strong novellas

"Lord Steele". In 1000 A.D., Viking Queen Silke angrily wonders what the gods have in store for her as she is escorted by her brother Aragon by ship from Iceland to Scotia to wed a Scottish barbarian as a means of ending the constant invasions. When a storm sinks her vessel, Silke blames her future spouse. The Viking warrior queen makes it to land, but is captured by the Scots, who take the irate Silke to their liege, Lord Steele. He realizes who she is and is delighted for he desires his prisoner queen. However, seduction may not prove enough to gain her love even when she becomes the warden and he the prisoner.
"Lady Thunder". In 1000AD Iceland, Thora O'Donnahue is expected to sacrifice her happiness in order to marry the abusive Viking Ragnald Bluetooth so that he and his horde will stop raiding what is left of her debilitated clan. Irate that she is wedding his enemy who almost felled his sister Silke, Aragon the shapeshifting berserker seeks vengeance against Bluetooth. He captures Thora and forces her to marry him as a slap at Bluetooth. As the newlyweds hide their paranormal secrets from one another, they fall in love, but Bluetooth is coming and does not care who dies in his path.
The two sibling novellas are powerful historical romances filled with vivid descriptions that cleverly fit into the fabulous story lines. The tales are so picturesque; fans will feel wet from the ocean storms. The two pairs of lead couples are solid and a pinch of the paranormal adds flavoring so that medieval readers will appreciate these strong interrelated novellas by a very talented writer.

Amazing Debut

Leslie Burbank has shown enormous strength as a writer with her debut novella duet. The two stories meld together to form one continuous story. In Lord Steele, Silke is a warrior queen with the determination of ten men, but it only takes one to bring out the woman in her.
In Lady Thunder we meet Aragon, Silke's brother, who just happens to be a beserker. But the wolf in him is no match against the woman who soothes the mighty beast and steals his heart.
Full of action and sizzling with passion, Leslie Burbank has done an outstanding job of bringing to life a set of characters you won't soon forget, or want to.

A Romantic Set Of Stories You Won't Want To Miss!!!

To Tame a Viking is a book that includes two different stories about one family, a brother and a sister. The stories are romantic and fanciful and set in Scotland, Ireland, and Iceland.
These were fast paced stories that were fun to read and entertaining. The chemistry and romance between the main characters Silke and Steel in "Lord Steele" was wonderful as was the romance between Aragon and Thora in "Lady Thunder." Ms. Burbank is a great author, and she gives attention to details that help place you in the time period that she is writing about. I look forward to reading more of her stories in the future!

LSAT Explained needs another book to explain itself

I found the explanations in this book lacking, unlike Kaplan and Powerscore where they give specific reasons to why one shouldn't choose an answer or why one is correct, this guide pretty much seemed very novice. On top of that, there were numerous mistakes and typos where the book would list an answer but then when reading the descriptions for each answer option it would indicate the answer as something completely different. The Logic Game portion of this book is very confusing, it doesn't set up the problems very well.
This book isn't a total waste, but the small mistakes here and there were so unnecessary especially when paying attention to detail on the LSAT is imperative. So far Powerscore guides are the best for your money. I suggest if you have a budget stay away from this book.

Fairly Good LSAT Study Aid

This book is a supplement to "The Next 10 Actual, Official LSAT PrepTests". It provides explanations for the answers to the test.

It is an improvement over the previous "LSAT Answers" book by GetPrepped. The answers in "Explained" are laid out in a more visually pleasing way than before (it used to be an unformatted paragraph of info). The explanations are decent for LR and RC, but the way they deal with AR doesn't fit with my methods and some of their diagrams are a little too difficult to follow. There are the usual typos but I've been pleasantly surprised to find that they don't resort to saying an answer is right or wrong "just because". There were a lot of major reasoning mistakes in the "LSAT Answers" but I haven't found anything of significance in "LSAT Explained".

I don't think you're wasting money on the book, but I don't think GetPrepped's explanations are of the same caliber as what I've seen of Kaplan and possibly Princeton Review.

If you get this book you'll want to try to figure out why you got a question wrong before you turn towards "Explained" for explanations. Personally, I wouldn't want my understanding of the LSAT or the individual questions to hinge on this book but it is a decent supplement for thinking in greater depth and getting another perspective on the questions.

Confusing Explanations - Not Worth Getting

Not only are these explanations confusing, but this book contains content that is also just plain wrong. More harmful than helpful in my opinion. Do not buy.
